Humble Beginnings
What began as a humble butcher shop soon expanded beyond expectations. Paul Lederer’s entrepreneurial drive laid the foundation for one of Australia’s most successful private business stories. Early investments in hotels and residential apartments marked the group’s first steps into property, an ambition that would steadily grow into a diversified, multi-billion-dollar portfolio.

Scaling Through Operations
Over the following decades, the Lederer Group expanded its footprint across food manufacturing. Acquiring Primo, which would later go on to be Australia's best known and market leading smallgoods manufacturer. The Lederer group also expanded into logistics and retail-building operational expertise that would later define its investment strategy.

Growth & Development
The Lederer Group went on to acquire several brands and started to grow their industrial property portfolio. In 2012 the Lederer Group developed a first of its kind, integrated smallgoods “mega-factory” in Wacol, Queensland. In 2013 the Australian Institute of Building Excellence recognised Lederer Group and awarded them the Professional Builder of the Year

2014 – A Strategic Exit
The Primo Sale
After scaling Primo Smallgoods into Australia’s leading producer of ham, bacon, and smallgoods, the business was sold to JBS for $1.45 billion. The transaction marked one of the largest private food exits in Australian history.

The Lederer Group established a national portfolio of commercial properties alongside private investments in growth-stage businesses and strategic co-investments across capital markets.
